Product Review: Terracotta Bonanza – A boxful of delights for the creative soul

My boys aged 6 & 9 were ecstatic when I got this big box of goodies home. ‘Terracotta Bonzana’ is what they call it!

Perfect for a weekend, or rainy or wintery day….this keeps kids and adults occupied for hours. It serves well as a family activity also.

What’s in it?

Our Family is a family of 5….so we designed ours accordingly

The box has 3 things that can be created: 8 Fridge Magnets, a Name Plate with 4 family faces and wooden board and 2 Display vases/Stationery Holders.

The material for creating the art-works is given along (i.e. acrylic base paint, 6 tempera paints, acrylic golden paint, magnets, brush and glue)

The theme for the box is Indian Faces, so the terracotta faces provided portray different faces of Indian folk with myriad turbans, mustaches and beards.

The Name plate has faces for a family of four (mother, father, son and daughter). The 2 pots can be painted in a design of your fancy and can be used as flower vases, stationery holders or even in the kitchen.

The kit comes with a detailed instructional kit which even a novice (like me J) can follow.

What we did

All faces need to be painted in a base colour and can then be painted as per one’s fancy.

The paints do dry fast and work can be completed in a day.

Mounting the faces on the name plate, sticking it is easy…

Pots – I would suggest you draw a design in pencil and then fill it in with colours.

Immense Fun – A Great Bonding Activity

Our pictures are more or less self-explanatory – we had loads and loads of fun doing it! Of course the boys insisted on using their own colour combinations but the end result was satisfying for all.

Rating – Here’s how we rate Terracotta Bonanzan by Toy-Kraft on a scale of 1-5

Creativity & Design (5/5) - This is totally based on your own creativity skills but the base and concept idea of this kit is amazing to work on.

Purpose and Skill (5/5) - Art is amazing for fine motor skills and concentration. It builds self-confidence and is a medium to express. Furthermore it teaches your kids about their culture, art appreciation and above all it’s FUN.

Durability (5/5) - The faces are of good quality. Material provided is adequate.

Price (4/5)

At Rs.749 it is a tad expensive but to total paisa vasool for the amount of stuff you can create.
